How to Reset Your Server Password

If you've forgotten your server password or need to reset it for security reasons, Circle City Servers provides options through your control panel or by contacting support.

Resetting via Control Panel

  1. Log into your server management panel (such as SolusVM or Virtualizor).
  2. Select the server you want to manage.
  3. Click Root Password, Change Password, or similar.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password.
  5. Click Change Password or Submit.
  6. Wait a few minutes for the change to take effect.

Resetting from Within the Server

If you still have access, you can change the password from the command line:

passwd

Follow the prompts to set a new password.

Password Best Practices

  • Use at least 12 characters.
  • Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid using dictionary words or personal information.
  • Consider using SSH keys for added security.
