If you've forgotten your server password or need to reset it for security reasons, Circle City Servers provides options through your control panel or by contacting support.
Resetting via Control Panel
- Log into your server management panel (such as SolusVM or Virtualizor).
- Select the server you want to manage.
- Click Root Password, Change Password, or similar.
- Enter and confirm your new password.
- Click Change Password or Submit.
- Wait a few minutes for the change to take effect.
Resetting from Within the Server
If you still have access, you can change the password from the command line:
passwdFollow the prompts to set a new password.
Password Best Practices
- Use at least 12 characters.
- Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Avoid using dictionary words or personal information.
- Consider using SSH keys for added security.
