How to Configure Reverse DNS (rDNS)

Reverse DNS maps an IP address back to a domain name. Proper rDNS configuration is important for email deliverability and professional branding.

Requesting rDNS Changes

  1. Log into the Client Area.
  2. Open a support ticket requesting an rDNS update.
  3. Provide the IP address and the hostname you want it to resolve to.
  4. Wait for the change to be applied.

Best Practices

  • Use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) such as mail.example.com.
  • Ensure the hostname has a matching forward DNS (A) record.
  • Avoid generic or suspicious-looking hostnames for mail servers.
