Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) allows you to connect to your Windows server with a graphical interface. This article explains how to connect from Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Before You Begin

• Your server's IP address
• Administrator username (usually Administrator)
• Your administrator password
• RDP port (default is 3389 unless changed)

Connecting from Windows

1. Open the Remote Desktop Connection app.
2. Enter your server IP address.
3. Click Connect.
4. Enter your username and password when prompted.
5. Click OK to log in.

Connecting from macOS

1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store.
2. Open the app and click Add PC.
3. Enter your server IP address.
4. Enter your username and password.
5. Click Connect.

Connecting from Linux

1. Install Remmina or another RDP client.
2. Create a new connection and enter your server IP.
3. Enter your username and password.
4. Click Connect.
